3 Miles at a Time - 1 Day at a Time

Posted by: Valerie and Bryan

Bryan and I have been really pretty busy today. We slept in until around 9:30 and then prepared a light lunch of homemade tacos for Aunt Judy & Uncle Larry. They were coming for lunch on their way to the airport for the big hop, skip, and jump across the pond to England! I know that they are going to have a fabulous time hanging out with Vonda & Edgar and seeing the sights.

After we dropped them off at the airport around 1:00, we were off to San Antonio to see Bryan's parents. We always have a great time down there, even when it's only for a few hours. We had dinner at Louie LeDeaux's and then Bryan and I headed home.

If getting home at 9:45 in the evening wasn't late enough, I was bound and determined to get my walk in today - all 3 miles of it... so, off to the fitness center we went! We are fortunate to have one in our community - we have an awesome amenity center / pool. Check out ShadowGlen by clicking the link. Too bad we don't have any kids, they would love the water slides!

So, here it is, almost 11:30 and we are just cooling down. It really feels good to get out and exercise. I sure slacked off for a long time and I can tell a difference in the way I feel.

for not posting in such a long time. It's been a busy couple of weeks and I am so sorry for not posting to keep everyone in the loop of what is going on with the Morrison household and Lightwave Foto. Bryan has been working ALOT of overtime with his job. I have been suffering from terrible headaches; but got a clear MRA/MRI last week and now am on some meds to make it all better. I won't be on them permanently though - that is the good thing considering how I hate to take any kind of pill.

We enjoyed visiting with Bryan's family on the 17th for a graduation party honoring sister, Leah! Way to go girl! She graduated cum laude with her Bachelor's in Social Work from OLLU in San Antonio.

We also enjoyed visiting with some of my family on the 24th for a Memorial Day weekend get-together. Thanks to Shaila & Bill for hosting and keeping it on the CORE!

For those of you that I haven't spoken to in a while, I started Weight Watchers Core Plan. And, I'm happy to report that last night after my first full week, I LOST 4 POUNDS!! Did you know that is a whole sack of Sugar. Go pull that sack out of your pantry and that sucker is heavy! That's how much weight came off of my body last week alone! So, I'm going for 5 pounds this week.

Wish me luck!

Awesome Sale!

Fire at OLLU San Antonio

Posted by: Valerie and Bryan

Bryan and I received an interesting call from his sister, Leah, last night around 8:15 p.m. stating that her university's main building was on fire - a four-alarm fire at that. The Old Main Building of Our Lady of The Lake University was ablaze. Red and orange flames shooting out of the top of the building destroying this historic and beautiful piece of architecture. Please keep the students, faculty and administration, the community and the nuns who reside at OLLU in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with the loss of this treasured monument.

Leah will be graduating next Saturday, May 17, with a Bachelors Degree from OLLU. We are so proud of you, Leah - and we are very sorry that this tragedy has happened.
